Our mission is simple though not easy: To Save The Planet. To prevent further degradation of our global home by persuading a billion plus individuals to take small, doable actions that help clean up the air, provide clean water, ensure safe food, and sustain productive land.

WHY WE STARTED BPP

Even after more than 60 years of scientific white papers, conferences and debates that have documented how our environment is deteriorating, the health of our planet continues to erode. Frustrated, we—a group of friends and business associates who are passionate about the beauties of our planet, about health, about leaving a good legacy for our children and future generations—asked ourselves: What hasn’t been tried? What can we do to trigger restorative actions needed by a dying planet? To halt erosion? To even reverse the corrosive effects of our heavy footprint on our earth and our voracious overuse of resources? What do we have today that we didn’t have over the past 6 decades? Digital technology. Technology to communicate widely. Technology to scale impact.

The Billion People Project seeks to drive these well-intentioned discussions into actions beginning with what each of us can do individually—but collectively measured. Today’s technology allows us to create a global social network to find like minded people who share our passion and to scale our actions to achieve full impact. We will connect with other hard-working environmental organizations to pool our collective efforts. With the unique BPP app and website feedback loop, we believe that daily actions reported by people all around the world will record, give tangible evidence, and communicate how we care and what we can do.

Together we will make happen a global shift, now. Institutions, by their very nature, take too long to act. We, the people around the world, will make the difference.
