WHAT IS THE BILLION PEOPLE PROJECT?

Billion People Project (BPP) is a movement that demonstrates how each of us committing to take small actions in service of the health of our planet, can make a huge collective difference. Our goal is simple, even if it isn’t easy: We want to save our planet from environmental ruin. And we intend to do it not by changing massive global systems, but by shifting the everyday acts of individual humans.

It works like this: On this website and through our BPP app, we suggest 60+ actions you can take on a daily basis. Each act has an associated calculated carbon reduced and water saved. All you have to do is pick your actions. Record them. Then watch them get aggregated with others’—on this website, in real time. You can play Eco Clout, a game that shows the impact of your effort compared to your fellow humans.

Our health, clean water, pure air to breathe, our favorite spots in nature—all of them depend on the acts we take in how we live today. Let’s unite to preserve the planet that is home to all of us. Take your first small action today, for the benefit of all of us tomorrow.
